Privacy Policy & Aviso de Privacidad

Last updated: July 6, 2026. This document serves as our privacy policy and as the Aviso de Privacidad required under Mexico's Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP).

humanyouare exists so people can be seen without performing. That only works if you can trust us with what you share — starting with your data. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller (responsable) is:

[YOUR FULL LEGAL NAME]
[MAILING ADDRESS — a PO box or mailbox service is fine], Mexico
Email: [email protected]

This project is created and operated from Mexico. If you access it from another country, your data will be processed in Mexico and by the service providers listed below.

2. What personal data we collect

3. What we use it for

Primary purposes (necessary for the relationship you've asked for):

Secondary purposes (you may opt out of these at any time without affecting your membership):

To opt out of secondary purposes, click "unsubscribe" in any email or write to [email protected].

4. Sensitive data and what happens in the circle

What's said in the circle stays in the circle. Sessions are not recorded by us — unless a recording or a special exercise involving recording is clearly communicated to all participants before the call, in which case joining that portion is always optional. Members agree not to record sessions themselves or share what others disclose. Outside those announced cases, we do not create transcripts or store the content of what you share in a session.

Where application answers touch on your emotional or personal life, we use them only to assess fit and place you well, we restrict access to them to the people who hold the circles, and we do not share them with anyone else. By submitting an application you give your express consent to this processing, as required by the LFPDPPP for sensitive data. You may withdraw that consent at any time (see section 7).

5. Who we share data with

We never sell your personal data, and we never share it with advertisers. We share it only with the service providers (encargados) needed to run the project, under their own privacy safeguards:

These providers may be located outside Mexico (typically in the United States or the European Union), which means your data may be transferred internationally as part of ordinary operation. We only work with providers that offer contractual privacy protections. No transfers requiring your additional consent under Article 36 of the LFPDPPP are made without obtaining it.

6. Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality and anonymous analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

7. Your rights (ARCO and more)

Under Mexican law you have ARCO rights: Access the personal data we hold about you; Rectify it if it's inaccurate; Cancel (delete) it; and Oppose (object to) its use. You may also withdraw consent and limit the use or disclosure of your data.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected] with: (a) your name and email, (b) which right you're exercising, and (c) a clear description of the data concerned. We may ask you to verify your identity. We will respond within the timeframes set by the LFPDPPP (a determination within 20 business days, effected within 15 business days thereafter, or any shorter period the law in force requires).

If you're unsatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with Mexico's data protection authority. If you're in the EU/UK or another jurisdiction granting you additional rights (such as portability), we will honor equivalent requests in good faith.

8. Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Using it removes you from the letters immediately, and there are truly no hard feelings.

9. How long we keep data

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data we hold — access restricted to those holding the circles, reputable providers, encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information the way the circle treats your words: with care.

11. Minors

Adult circles and the email list are intended for people 18 and over. Where we offer dedicated youth circles, a participant aged 13–17 may take part only when a parent or legal guardian submits the application on their behalf and gives verifiable written consent. In that case the parent or guardian is our primary contact, handles billing, and may exercise all ARCO rights on the minor's behalf. We treat minors' data with the heightened protection Mexican law requires for it.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without such parental consent, and never from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has provided us data without consent, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this notice

If we change this policy, we'll post the updated version at humanyouare.org/privacy with a new date, and — for material changes — tell you by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance to the extent the law allows; where the law requires fresh consent, we'll ask for it.
